Respect

Care Before You're Asked

Omotenashi describes a kind of hospitality practiced before the guest has to ask for anything — anticipating a need and meeting it quietly, without expecting credit.

On a team, this looks like passing the water bottle before someone asks, covering a rotation without being told, texting a teammate after a hard loss before they text you.

Respect that waits to be asked isn't really respect — it's compliance. The real thing moves first.
